In Ukraine, military service is compulsory for all male citizens between the ages of 18 and 27. Those who are not physically fit or have medical conditions that would make them unsuitable for service are exempt.

The first step to joining the army is to take a medical exam to determine if you are physically fit to serve. If you pass the medical exam, you will then take a psychological exam.

After you have passed both the medical and psychological exams, you will be interviewed by a military commission. The commission will ask you questions about your motivation for joining the army and your loyalty to Ukraine.

If you are approved by the commission, you will be given a contract to sign. The contract will specify the terms of your service, including the length of your service and your duties.
