The answer to this question is a little complicated. There are actually three different policies on tattoos in the US Army, and it depends on when you got the tattoo as to which policy applies to you. Soldiers who got tattoos before the new policy went into effect in 2015 are allowed to have them as long as they are not visible in uniform. Soldiers who got tattoos after the new policy went into effect are not allowed to have any visible tattoos. And finally, soldiers who have tattoos that were not visible when they enlisted are allowed to have them if they meet certain conditions.<\/p>\n
