The United States military has been a long-standing destination for immigrants looking for a new life. The allure of citizenship and the opportunity to serve one’s new country are strong motivators for many would-be immigrants. There are, however, a few requirements that must be met in order to join the U.S. military. One of these requirements is that the applicant must not have any pending orders for deportation. This means that, unfortunately, immigrants who are ordered to deport are not able to join the U.S. Army.<\/p>\n

According to current U.S. law, immigrants who are ordered to deport are not eligible to join the U.S. Army.<\/p>\n

You do not have to be a US citizen to enlist in the military, but you may have fewer options. If you are not a US citizen, you must:<\/p>\n

Have a permanent resident card, also known as a Green Card.<\/p>\n
