The U.S. Army is a large and complex organization with many different career paths. Some people join the Army intending to make it a lifelong career, while others join with the understanding that they will serve for a set period of time and then transition to civilian life. Still others join with the goal of completing their initial service obligation and then moving on to another branch of the military or to a different type of job entirely. Whatever your reasons for joining the Army, it is important to understand that you generally cannot simply quit. There are a few limited circumstances under which you may be able to leave the Army before your service is complete, but in most cases, you will be expected to fulfill your commitment.<\/p>\n
