The Russian Army is one of the largest in the world, yet it is widely considered to be incompetent. There are a number of reasons for this, including Poor leadership, Lack of training, and Lack of modern equipment. As a result, the Russian Army has been soundly defeated in a number of recent conflicts, such as the Second Chechen War and the 2008 South Ossetia War.
