I had the privilege of meeting Raymond Mason at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. He was kind enough to share his story with me and I was deeply moved by his experience.
Mason was drafted into the 4th Armored Division in 1943 and served in Europe until the end of the war. He was involved in several major campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge, and saw first-hand the devastation of the war.
Despite the horrors he witnessed, Mason remains upbeat and positive, and is proud of his service to his country. He is a true hero, and I am grateful to have had the chance to meet him.
