A person who is on active duty is in the military full time. They work for the military full time, may live on a military base, and can be deployed at any time. Persons in the Reserve or National Guard are not full-time active duty military personnel, although they can be deployed at any time should the need arise.
How many years do you serve in the Army Reserve
The time commitment for serving in the Army Reserve is one weekend a month on duty and two weeks a year in training. The total service contract length may range from three to six years, depending on the Army Reserve job.
Army Reserve officers and enlisted Soldiers are eligible for Drill Pay as they serve their weekend and other training duties. Do Army Reserves get to stay home?

How often do Army Reserves get paid
As a member of the Reserves, you will be paid on the 1st and 15th of every month. If either of those days falls on a weekend or holiday, you will be paid on the last business day before the weekend or holiday.
There are two types of service members in the military: those on active duty and those in the reserves. Both types of service members may be deployed, but the chance is greater for those on active duty. Active-duty service members earn full-time pay and full benefits, while reserve-duty service members earn part-time pay and partial benefits.
Do Army reserves ever get deployed?

Do Army Reserves go to bootcamp

Do reserves pay for uniforms?
Enlisted members are provided the uniforms, shoes, boots and insignia they need at no charge when they enter a reserve component, unless they enlist directly from active duty. However, clothing allowances are authorized for members to purchase and maintain their uniforms.
