Where does the U.S. Army train in Poland
The Konotop barracks have been home to US Soldiers from the Puerto Rico National Guard since 2016, when the PRNG first arrived in Poland as part of the Atlantic Resolve mission. The mission of the PRNG is to deter Russian aggression in the region and to maintain the security of NATO’s eastern flank.
Since 2016, the size of the PRNG contingent in Poland has grown from a few hundred to over a thousand soldiers. And with that growth has come an expansion of the Konotop barracks.
In 2019, the PRNG began construction on a new $15 million dollar training area at the Konotop barracks. The new training area is nearly twice the size of the old one and includes a new live-fire range, a larger tactical village, and a helipad.
The expansion of the Konotop barracks is a reflection of the PRNG’s commitment to the Atlantic Resolve mission. The PRNG’s leadership has been instrumental in making the Konotop barracks a key part of the US military’s presence in Poland.
PoznanCamp Kościuszko is a beautiful campground located in Poznan, Poland. The campground features a variety of amenities including a playground, a swimming pool, a pavilion, and a basketball court. The campground is also home to a variety of animals including chickens, goats, and horses.
Is Fort Campbell deploying to Poland?
The soldiers in Fort Campbell’s 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne Division will be deployed to Poland to replace the 82nd Airborne Division’s 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This is a large deployment, and the soldiers will be gone for an extended period of time. Their families and friends will miss them, but they will be in our thoughts and prayers.
The US President Joe Biden announced in Madrid that the permanent HQ for US Army’s V Corps will be established in Poland. From the autumn of 2020, a Forward Command Post of this compound has been operating in Poznań, which coordinates the activities of the US land forces in Europe.
